SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello everyone! During the Pride 🏳🌈 week of Rotterdam we have a special Cocktail event on Friday evening, September 26. In collaboration with The usual Hotel, we have a lovely, intimate evening in store. We start at 18:00 with pizza 🍕 and a special cocktail 🍹: A Sip of Pride, created by The Usual for this occasion. From 19:00 till 22:00 we will enjoy an evening of drinks, snacks and special performances by queer artists.
Open call 🎤
It would be great if people from our group would also like to present their work 🤩. The pieces need to be 2 to 5 minutes max; in any language you feel comfortable using. It can be a short story, a poem or a spoken word piece. Would you like to participate in the performances? Please let us know so we can include you in the programming! ✌
That’s not all!
It would be great to enjoy this evening AND the festival the next day with the march and the party. For that we are offering (limited) sleeping spots for those coming from outside Rotterdam and surroundings. When booking your (free) ticket, make sure you also book a sleeping spot.

For those who are coming from outside the Rotterdam and its surroundings, we offer public transport costs 🚌🚉! So that you can join both our regular gathering and this special Cocktail event. For this, please send me a private message.

Hallo allemaal! Tijdens de Pride 🏳🌈 week van Rotterdam hebben we een speciaal cocktailevenement op vrijdagavond 26 september. In samenwerking met The Usual Hotel hebben we een heerlijke, intieme avond in petto. We beginnen om 18:00 uur met pizza 🍕 en een speciale cocktail 🍹: A Sip of Pride, speciaal voor deze gelegenheid gecreëerd door The Usual. Van 19:00 tot 22:00 uur genieten we van een avond vol drankjes, hapjes en bijzondere optredens van queer artiesten.

Het zou geweldig zijn als mensen uit onze groep ook hun werk willen presenteren 🤩. De stukken mogen maximaal 2 tot 5 minuten duren; in elke taal die je prettig vindt om te gebruiken. Het mag een kort verhaal, een gedicht of een gesproken tekst zijn. Wil je meedoen aan de voorstellingen? Laat het ons weten, dan kunnen we je opnemen in de programmering! ✌
Dat is nog niet alles!
Het zou geweldig zijn om deze avond én het festival de volgende dag te beleven met de mars en het feest. Daarvoor bieden we (beperkt) slaapplaatsen aan voor mensen die van buiten Rotterdam en omstreken komen. Zorg er bij het boeken van je (gratis) ticket voor dat je ook een slaapplaats reserveert.

Cocktail is a project for lgbti (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex) asylum seekers and refugees.
Cocktail wants to help to reduce the isolation that lgbti refugees and asylum seekers are in. We want to introduce them into the Dutch society and our LGBTI community in a relaxed and safe way.
We want to help to improve the social climate for/and the safety of, lgbti newcomers and migrants in the Netherlands. The lgbti community is often discriminated or threatened in large parts of the world. In some countries they are imprisoned or even sentenced to death. Sometimes fleeing is their only option. They have to leave family and friends behind for an uncertain future in a strange country. In addition, the sexual orientation of lgbti refugees is often not accepted or tolerated by their fellow newcomers in the refugee centers, just like in their country of origin. This can lead to severe forms of violence, isolation, and feelings of anxiety, or depression.
